Her life tribulations turned her into the strong women she is today
The job of a journalist is to tell the story through the eyes of the individual experience, to let the audience connect and feel the story no matter how serious or funny it may be. This time, Journalism Major at the City College of New York, Gabriella Perez sits back and divulges on what has made her the daring, powerful, and ambitious woman she is today.
At 7 years old, Gaby, as most of her closest friends and family members call her, came to the United States of America for a new beginning and the American dream not found in Bucaramanga, Colombia where she was born in on July 14th, 1997. Most of her life, she lived in the tranquil and quiet suburbs of Yonkers, New York but now the 22 year old resides in an apartment with three of her roommates and her bearded dragon, Dino in the busy city of Harlem, New York.
Though she has had a tranquil life, she has had alot of tribulations over the last 22 years. Ranging from cocaine addiction, abusive relationship from an U.S army soldier that stalked her down through three countries Gaby did not let her life tribulations stop her from her dreams. She decided to come back to the US and create a new life, pursue her degree in journalism and is now an aspiring Video Jockey for the LatinX audience, discovering and interviewing up and coming artists in the modern contemporary genre of music. While hoping to deliver her work through the networks of MTV Latino, Telemundo and Univision. This cultured, stylish and ambitious Colombiana aspires to have an immense fan base from all over the world, while she hopes to share her knowledge and awareness of the culture now and what’s to come.
